Hotel White Nest, also in Kalpa, sits at ₹4,500/night and is one of the few properties in the area that stays open through winter. Rates at The Shambhu Lodge, The Delek House, and Hotel Palvey Kaza fall in a similar ₹4,000-4,500/night range. These are the standalone room rates if booked outside one of our fixed-departure or custom packages, where accommodation is instead bundled into the per-person trip price. Hotel White Nest in Kalpa is winter-open, with 24/7 heating and Kinner Kailash views, priced from ₹4,500/night, making it the property we route our Winter Expedition and NY Special batches through when staying in Kalpa. Several of the other listed hotels reduce operations or close entirely during the coldest winter months, since Kalpa's tourist traffic drops sharply outside the June-October season. This is part of why our winter fixed departures use a smaller, more consistent set of partner hotels than our summer routes, which can draw on the full Kalpa hotel list depending on batch size and availability. If you're planning independent winter travel to Kalpa outside one of our packages, it's worth confirming directly with any property that winter operations are currently running before booking.

Most do. Hotel Royal Voyages and Hotel Him Paradise both offer free or high-speed WiFi plus heating, and Hotel White Nest includes 24/7 heating specifically built for winter stays, alongside Hotel Him Paradise. Heating setups vary by property though: some run on-demand room heaters (billed separately in certain packages, as with our Winter Expedition heater charges) rather than always-on central heating, so it's worth checking the specific arrangement for whichever hotel you're staying at. WiFi reliability in Kalpa and Kaza generally holds up better than deeper into Spiti Valley's high villages, where connectivity can be patchy regardless of the hotel's own setup. For travelers who need consistent connectivity for work during the trip, Kalpa-based hotels are generally the more reliable choice over Kaza.
