The Spiti Half Circuit Expedition runs 4 nights and 5 days, making it our shortest fixed departure to Spiti Valley. The route covers Shimla, Kalpa, Kaza, and the high-altitude villages around Kaza, giving you the core Spiti experience: Kinner Kailash views, monastery visits, and high-village drives, without the extra days needed to also reach Chandratal Lake or loop back through Manali. It's built for travelers with limited leave who still want a genuine high-altitude Spiti trip rather than a rushed version of one. Compared to our other Spiti routes, it's roughly half the length of Spiti with Chandrataal (6 nights / 7 days) or the Winter Expedition (10 nights / 11 days). That's where the "Half Circuit" name comes from: half the full circuit in half the time, at the lowest price point of any of our fixed departures.

What's the price for the Half Circuit?

The Spiti Half Circuit Expedition is priced at ₹12,999 per person on Triple Sharing, or ₹13,999 on Double Sharing, both before GST. After the standard 5% GST is added at checkout, that works out to ₹13,649 (Triple) and ₹14,699 (Double). This makes it the most affordable fixed departure we run to Spiti Valley, since the shorter 4-night route needs less accommodation and transport than our 6- or 10-night circuits. The price includes breakfast and dinner daily, an experienced driver-cum-guide, a First Aid kit and oxygen cylinder for altitude safety, Inner Line permits, and stays at our own hotels in Kalpa and Kaza, so you're not paying a third-party hotel markup. Not included: lunch during the trip, personal expenses, and any extras beyond what's listed in the itinerary. 11 batches run July through October each year.

Does the Half Circuit include Chandratal Lake?

No, the Half Circuit is a compact 4-night, 5-day sprint to Kaza and back via Kalpa, and it doesn't route through Kunzum Pass or include a night at Chandratal Lake. That extra leg adds roughly two more days of driving and a dedicated lakeside camping night, which is why it's reserved for our longer routes. If Chandratal is a must-see for your trip, book Spiti with Chandrataal instead, a 6 nights / 7 days circuit from ₹17,999 that follows the same Shimla-Sarahan-Sangla-Kalpa-Tabo-Kaza route as the Half Circuit, then continues to Chandratal and exits via Manali rather than looping back the way it came. The Spiti Biking Expedition also ends at Chandratal if you'd rather do that leg on a motorcycle. Both run June/July through October, the same general season as the Half Circuit.

Half Circuit batches run July through October, with 11 fixed departure dates across the season. Mid-season dates, particularly the 14-20 August batch, tend to fill fastest, since that window overlaps with peak monsoon-break travel and school holidays. Early and late-season batches (July and October) generally have more availability, and can also mean quieter roads and villages. Each batch requires a minimum group size to run. Check the specific date's status on the package page, since batches marked "Filling Fast" have only a few seats left and "Full" batches are closed to new bookings. If your preferred date is full, the next Half Circuit batch is usually within 2-3 weeks, or you can message us on WhatsApp to check the waitlist or ask about a private custom-dates version of the same itinerary.

The Half Circuit price includes breakfast and dinner daily at every stop, an experienced driver-cum-guide who handles both driving and trip logistics, a First Aid kit and oxygen cylinder on board for altitude-related issues, Inner Line permits for the restricted zones around Kaza, and accommodation at our own hotels in Kalpa and Kaza, meaning no third-party markup on rooms. What's not included: lunch during travel days, personal expenses like shopping or laundry, any meals or drinks beyond what's listed, and optional activities not already built into the itinerary. Since this is a summer/autumn route, winter-specific costs like hotel heater charges don't apply. The inclusions match what you'd get on our longer Spiti circuits. The Half Circuit simply covers fewer days and a shorter loop, not a stripped-down version of the same trip.

Yes, the Half Circuit is specifically built for travelers who can't take a full week off but still want a real high-altitude Spiti experience, not a diluted one. At 4 nights / 5 days it still reaches Kaza and the high villages around it, giving you the monasteries, Kinner Kailash views from Kalpa, and the high-altitude drive that make Spiti worth visiting. The days cut compared to our longer routes are mostly the additional Chandratal and Manali legs, not the core Spiti experience itself. It runs the same driver-cum-guide, First Aid and oxygen support, and own-hotel stays as our longer circuits, so nothing is cut on the safety or comfort side either. If you later want to add Chandratal on a future trip, Spiti with Chandrataal follows nearly the same opening route with two extra days.
