Chandratal Lake is located near the Kunzum Pass in the Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. It sits between Kunzum Pass and the Spiti Valley, making it a natural pitstop on the Shimla-to-Manali or Manali-to-Spiti route.

How to Reach Chandratal Lake
From Manali
Drive to Batal via Rohtang and Gramphu (approx. 6-7 hours). From Batal, it's a 14 km drive to the parking area, followed by a 2 km trek to the lake.
From Kaza (Spiti)
Drive to Losar and then to Kunzum Pass. From Kunzum, take the diversion towards Chandratal (approx. 3-4 hours total from Kaza).
Camping at Chandratal
Camping is the only way to stay near the lake, as there are no permanent structures. Several campsites operate between June and September.
